"MY DEBUT!"
Day 1
In Formula 1
speak .... what would it be if Robert Kubica was fastest in qualifying for the
British Grand Prix this weekend?
I love going
to places for the first time so I am really looking forward to playing in Poland
and to meeting at least some of my Polish fans.
But first I
have to get there and that involves ¨that¨ airport. Norwegian will fly me to
Warsaw and then I will connect to Gdansk and after that ..... no-one knows at
this point.
The venue
looks great on the internet but the co-ordination between the promoters has been
a little ¨difficult¨ and a lot of things were not clear.
But they met
me at the airport. Magne had arrived a little while before me and we travelled
together the 90 minute drive to the hotel/venue. Not a great distance but the
roads were narrow and our speed was very restricted.
Along the way
many questions were answered .... but not all of them!
Anyway, we
arrived, checked in and went to enjoy some dinner.
The band was
already at a local club terrifying the innocent, unexpecting ladies but we were
not about to join them.
I ran into
Clem (Clempson) and that was nice. The Hamburg Blues Band, featuring one of my
childhood heros Chris Farlowe, was playing before us tomorrow night, a great
band ... this was cool!
Went to bed,
moved in and dreamed a million seemingly pointless dreams.
